Stephanie Agne is the founder of Retreat Interior Design Studio, a Kansas City-based firm rooted in creating comfortable, functional spaces inspired by travel and everyday life. Her approach blends thoughtful design with a relaxed sensibility, incorporating cozy textiles, warm lighting, vintage finds, and handmade pieces to create interiors that feel lived-in and personal. Before launching her studio, Stephanie owned Golden & Pine, a well-loved home goods shop in Kansas City that evolved into an interior design studio. After years of curating furniture, rugs, and decor, she made the full transition to design in 2023. A self-described serial renovator, she has completed four full-home renovations in the past eight years, giving her firsthand experience in balancing aesthetics with practicality. Absolutely. Whether you're seeking fast-acting advice or diving into a full transformation, our community of designers is flexible when it comes to project size and scope. No question is too small, and no vision is too grand.
How can I prep for my consultation call?
Gather your design ideas and all forms of inspiration (think: sketches, photos, color swatches and images from your chosen designer’s portfolio). The more prepared you are for your consultation, the more personalized and productive your consultation call will be. You are welcome to have family members and architects present to optimize your time.
How long are the consultation calls?
You have two options — 30 minutes and 60 minutes. The half-hour call is great for quick questions and decision making, like choosing paint colors or reviewing some of your selections before pulling the trigger. You're in control. Submit a full-service inquiry for a traditional interior design experience where you have a professional taking a hands-on approach from start to finish.
